COMPLICATION MANAGEMENT FOR PROFESSIONALS
EXPERT SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL AESTHETIC PRACTITIONERS
Managing aesthetic complications can be challenging, even for experienced practitioners. At Secret Aesthetics, we provide a dedicated complication management referral service for medical aesthetic professionals who require specialist support with complex or unexpected patient presentations.
Led by Dr Asad Naqvi, this service offers timely clinical advice, ultrasound-guided assessment where appropriate, and ongoing management of aesthetic complications, allowing practitioners to access expert support while maintaining continuity of care for their patients.

LED BY DR ASAD NAQVI
Dr Asad Naqvi is a Dual Consultant working across Emergency Medicine and The Air Ambulance, with more than 12 years of experience in medicine, surgery, anaesthetics, and advanced aesthetic medicine.
As a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and an advanced ultrasound practitioner, Dr Naqvi is nationally recognised for his expertise in diagnosing and managing complex aesthetic complications.
His unique combination of emergency medicine experience and advanced aesthetic knowledge allows him to assess complications safely, accurately, and efficiently using both clinical examination and high-resolution ultrasound imaging where required.
PRACTITIONER REFERRAL SERVICE
If you have a patient experiencing an aesthetic complication, you can contact Secret Aesthetics for direct support from Dr Naqvi.
This service is available for medical aesthetic professionals seeking guidance, assessment, or onward management of patients presenting with complications following aesthetic treatment.
Following assessment, Dr Naqvi can take over the management of the patient where appropriate before referring them back to the original practitioner once the complication has been successfully managed.
Our aim is to support practitioners while ensuring patients receive the highest standard of medical care throughout the process.
COMPLICATIONS WE COMMONLY MANAGE
Referrals may include patients experiencing complications such as:
- Granulomas
- Lumps and nodules
- Filler migration
- Allergic or inflammatory reactions
- Reactions following hyaluronidase (dissolving treatment)
- Suspected vascular occlusion
- Skin compromise
- Tissue necrosis
- Persistent swelling
- Unexplained pain
- Delayed inflammatory reactions
- Other complications following aesthetic procedures
Each patient is assessed individually, with management tailored according to the underlying diagnosis and clinical findings.
ULTRASOUND-GUIDED ASSESSMENT
Where appropriate, high-resolution ultrasound can be used to assess filler location, vascular anatomy, inflammatory changes, scar tissue, granulomas, nodules, and other underlying causes of complications.
This additional level of assessment helps improve diagnostic accuracy and supports safe clinical decision-making before treatment is undertaken.
A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH
We understand the importance of maintaining trust between practitioners and their patients.
Our complication management service is designed to work collaboratively with referring practitioners. Throughout the patient’s care, communication is maintained where appropriate, and once treatment has been completed, patients are referred back to their original practitioner for ongoing aesthetic care.
This approach allows practitioners to access specialist support while preserving continuity of care and patient confidence.
PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT
Practitioners can contact Secret Aesthetics directly for advice regarding aesthetic complications or to discuss whether a patient would benefit from referral.
Support is available via telephone or email, providing direct access to Dr Naqvi for clinical guidance and referral discussions.
