Hair Loss in Birmingham

Secret Aesthetics For Hair Loss Treatments In Birmingham

Hair loss can cause a real drop in self-confidence and it is a truly wide-spread condition that can affect people of all genders. There are multiple aetiologies which require a holistic approach including blood tests to rule out underlying deficiencies which is why the consultations and treatments are undergone only by medical doctors at Secret Aesthetics.

Pregnancy and post-partum hair loss, general hairline thinning, female and male pattern baldness is particularly common. By the age of 35, over 60% of men have begun experiencing hair loss, either thinning of the crown, a receding hairline, overall thinning or even complete or near complete balding. Traditionally, a hair transplant would be a consideration for some causes, though these can be expensive and painful, and often downtime is involved for your recovery.

Secret Aesthetics offer a quick, safe, and non-invasive solution to the problem with their Platelet-rich Plasma treatment with Biotin.

Your blood is made up of red blood cells and two kinds of plasma: platelet-rich plasma, (or PRP) and plasma that contains small amounts of platelets (platelet-poor plasma). Plasma is the component of your blood that contains proteins that help your blood to clot, and it also contains proteins that support the growth of cells, including those that make up your hair.

Blood is drawn from your arm and put into a centrifuge, a device that uses centrifugal force to separate the elements of your blood to isolate the PRP. It’s then taken and delivered into your scalp using a mesogun, a precision device usually used for mesotherapy. The mesogun is set to deliver the PRP at a depth and speed based on the doctor’s assessment, so that you can get the best possible results from your hair loss treatment.

PRP is effective in both preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth, and it is sometimes also used as a complementary treatment to aid in the stimulation of hair growth after a hair transplant.

Always on the forefront of pioneering aesthetics, (as seen in their development of the standard tear trough filler treatment into the 3-in-1 Eye Rejuvenation Tear Trough Filler), Secret Aesthetics use Biotin to improve on the PRP treatment.

Biotin is a water-soluble Vitamin B, its primary role in the body being to help turn the food you eat into energy. Your body also needs it to produce keratin, a type of protein that is a component of hair. It is for this reason that Secret Aesthetics use it in their hair loss treatment to boost the effects of the PRP. From their own observations, there is a noticeably superior result in most patients when compared to a standard PRP treatment without biotin.

PRP therapy works with the natural growth cycle of your hair follicles and, for this reason, a course of treatments is always required. Some patients may see an initial increase of hair loss after the first treatment session, though it’s common to experience this with most hair growth treatments before an improvement is seen.

Initially, you’ll need to complete a series of three to six treatments, each four weeks apart to achieve really good PRP treatment results. The number of treatments will be determined by your clinician and will be dependent on the severity and type of your hair loss.

Maintenance treatments may be needed after your initial treatment if the underlying cause is chronic and ongoing, and the exact regularity of these will be advised but, on average, if needed they are every six months.
