Laser Genesis: Transforming Skin Non-Invasively:

By gently heating the skin down to the dermis, Laser Genesis enables controlled targeted tissue remodelling. This process activates fibroblasts for collagen production, improves scarring, constricts blood vessels (which can reduce facial redness in conditions like acne and rosacea), and targets stubborn pigment cells responsible for melasma, thus addressing hyperpigmentation. What makes Laser Genesis exceptional is its safety, allowing year-round use.

At Secret Aesthetics, in Birmingham, The most favourable results typically require a series of 6 sessions, spaced 2-3 weeks apart. This treatment offers a comfortable and less aggressive alternative to ablative laser therapies, with no downtime and minimal discomfort.

Our truPulse technology ensures consistent performance by delivering constant, sustained energy throughout the pulse duration. The Index Matching delivery enhances the coupling of laser energy to target structures while safeguarding the epidermis from heat build-up, ensuring treatment efficacy.

The Laser Genesis Procedure:

We will discuss the procedure, tailor the settings to your unique needs, and determine the number of sessions required. In some cases, the clinician may recommend combining Laser Genesis with Hydragenesis—a hydrafacial treatment—for deep decongestion, extraction, hydration, and non-ablative skin rejuvenation.

The procedure involves cleansing the skin before gently passing the laser over the targeted area. Over 15 minutes, the skin is gently heated, with patients experiencing a pleasant warming sensation akin to the feeling of the sun on their face.

Areas Treatable with Laser Genesis:

– Reduced Wrinkles and Fine Lines

– Improved Skin Texture and Tone

– Reduced Pore Size

– Reduced Redness and Pigmentation

– Reduced Appearance of Acne Scars

– Increased Collagen Production

– Reduced Appearance of Fine Veins

Potential Side Effects of Laser Genesis:

– Discomfort: A mild warming sensation during treatment.

– Redness/Swelling/Bruising: Temporary redness (erythema) or swelling (edema) in the treated area. Bruising may occur but is temporary.

– Skin Color Changes: The treated area may temporarily become lighter (hypopigmentation) or darker (hyperpigmentation) compared to the surrounding skin. This is usually temporary.

– Itching/Dry Skin: Itching and/or dry skin may result from treatment.

– Red Rash/Bumps: A red rash or bumps may appear post-treatment, resolving over time.

– Wounds: Treatment may cause burning, blistering, or bleeding in treated areas. Please contact us if any of these occur.

– Infection: While rare, infection is possible whenever the skin surface is disrupted. Proper wound care should prevent this. Contact us if you experience signs of infection.

– Scarring: Scarring is rare but possible if the skin surface is disrupted. Following post-treatment instructions minimizes scarring.

– Sun Exposure/Tanning Beds/Artificial Tanning: These activities may increase the risk of side effects and adverse events.

– Eye Exposure: Protective eyewear (shields) is provided during treatment. Failure to wear eye shields may cause severe and permanent eye damage.

Laser Genesis Results:

Most individuals experience improved skin texture and tone after just one treatment, with optimal results typically achieved after three to six sessions. While results are long-lasting, maintenance treatments are recommended to preserve the outcome.

Preparation for Laser Genesis:

– Avoid wearing makeup on the treatment day.

– Excess hair may need to be shaved, and men should be cleanly shaved.

– Refrain from sun-tanning or using self-tanners for 4 weeks before treatment.

– Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment.

– If you have a history of herpes or cold sores, you may require an anti-viral prescription before treatment.

Laser Genesis Aftercare:

– Use broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen to prevent further sun damage.

– Bruising, redness, and swelling may occur and resolve with time.

– Avoid heat sources like hot tubs and saunas for 1-2 days.

– Stay away from skin irritants for a few days post-treatment, including products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, and astringents.

– Multiple treatments are required.

– Notify the clinic of any concerns.

– Consult with the clinic about when to resume your regular skincare regime.

Who is Suitable for Laser Genesis:

Individuals with active acne, open wounds, or skin infections should postpone Laser Genesis until their condition improves. Your safety and comfort are our primary concern at all times.
