Unlock the Secret to Permanent Hair Reduction:

The choice of laser device significantly influences your results, the number of sessions required, and your overall experience. At Secret Aesthetics, we are unwavering in our commitment to utilising the best technology for all our treatments. That’s why we employ the gold standard in laser hair technology, harnessing the power of the Alexandrite laser and the Nd:YAG laser – the safest option for darker skin types and tanned individuals. These two cutting-edge technologies are seamlessly integrated into a state-of-the-art platform by Cutera, the pioneer of the first Nd:YAG Laser. With the added comfort of a built-in sapphire cooling tip, our approach ensures both effective results and a comfortable treatment.

Say goodbye to other hair removal methods like razors, chemical creams, and waxing, which often lead to ingrown hairs, skin pigmentation issues, and recurring hair growth. Laser hair removal offers a solution where hair growth becomes not only sparse but also finer, eventually ceasing to regrow with repeat treatments.

Unlike IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments, which are less effective on darker skin tones and typically require 15-20 sessions for noticeable results, our advanced technology means most clients achieve significant results within just 6-8 sessions. Diode lasers, such as the Soprano Titanium, are not optimized for hair removal and often reach a plateau in results due to their inability to adapt to changing hair coarseness.

Some companies claim to combine diodes, Alexandrites, and Nd:YAG lasers, but the reality is that these modalities are entirely distinct, and devices making such claims are essentially diodes attempting to emit wavelengths similar to Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers. They cannot replicate the effectiveness or safety of the original Alexandrite or Nd:YAG Lasers.

The Science Behind Our Laser Hair Removal Device:

This powerful combination offers safe and effective high-volume hair removal for all skin types. By targeting hair follicles at various stages of the growth cycle, a process known as photothermolysis, these wavelengths effectively damage and destroy hair follicles. Furthermore, our device is versatile, offering a solution for epidermal pigmented lesions and vascular lesions.

The 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser is recognized as the safest wavelength for permanent hair reduction on darker skin types and tanned skin. It can also be used to treat facial and leg veins and perform laser genesis procedures when appropriate spot sizes are selected.

Our truPulse technology delivers constant, sustained energy throughout the pulse duration, ensuring consistent performance and proven clinical outcomes for our patients. The Index Matching delivery further enhances the efficient coupling of laser energy to target structures. It allows backscattered light to escape, thereby safeguarding the epidermis from heat build-up while maintaining treatment efficacy.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal:

– Permanent Reduction in Hair Growth: Say goodbye to unwanted hair permanently. Expect up to 90-100% reduction in hair growth, with remaining hair becoming finer and less frequent.

– End of Ingrown Hairs: Bid farewell to ingrown hairs and skin pigmentation caused by razors and chemical hair removal methods. Laser hair removal significantly reduces skin irritation, stubble, and ingrown hairs.

– Save Time and Money: Over a lifetime, you can spend over £6000 on hair removal using razors and other methods, not to mention the time consumed. Laser hair removal requires an upfront investment, followed by minimal maintenance costs.

– Improved Skin Texture and Tone: Continuous use of razors, chemicals, and waxing often damages the skin’s surface, leading to hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. Laser hair removal dramatically reduces these issues.

The Laser Hair Removal Procedure at Secret Aesthetics:

Your consultation includes an assessment of your hair and skin type. During this session, we will discuss the procedure, select the optimal settings for your specific requirements, conduct a patch test, and recommend the best course of action for you.

Areas That Can Be Treated with Laser Hair Removal:

All areas of the body can undergo treatment, including the face, lips, ears, neck, chest, back, arms and underarms, stomach, bikini area, and legs.

Number of Laser Hair Removal Sessions Needed:

Some individuals may require fewer sessions depending on their hair and skin type. After completing the initial course, you can opt for single sessions every 6 months to 2 years to maintain the treated area and prevent hair regrowth.

Potential Side Effects of Laser Hair Removal:

– Discomfort/Pain: Some discomfort or pain may be experienced during treatment.

– Redness/Swelling/Bruising: Short-term redness (erythema) or swelling (edema) of the treated area is common and may occur. Bruising may also occur but is less common and temporary.

 – Hypopigmentation/Hyperpigmentation: Changes in skin color, either becoming lighter (hypopigmentation) or darker (hyperpigmentation) than the surrounding skin, are possible but usually temporary.

– Wounds: Treatment may result in burning, blistering, or bleeding of the treated areas.

– Sun Exposure/Tanning Beds/Artificial Tanning: These may increase the risk of side effects and adverse events.

– Infection: While proper wound care should prevent infection, it is a possibility whenever the skin surface is disrupted. Signs of infection should be reported to our office.

– Scarring: Scarring is rare but possible if the skin surface is disrupted. Proper post-treatment instructions must be followed to minimize scarring.

– Paradoxical Hair Growth: In some cases, hair growth may increase following photo-epilation, either within or adjacent to the treated area.

– Leukotrichia: Temporary or permanent gray hair may occur.

– Eye Exposure: Protective eyewear (shields) is provided during treatment. Failure to wear eye shields may cause severe and permanent eye damage.

Results of Laser Hair Removal:

After completing a full course of treatment, it may take several years for hair to return, or it may cease to regrow altogether in up to 90% of cases.

Preparation for Laser Hair Removal:

– Shave the treatment area cleanly.

– Leave a representative sample unshaven for assessment.

– Avoid wearing makeup on the treated area on the day of treatment.

– Refrain from sun-tanning or using self-tanners for 4 weeks before treatment.

– Some medications or supplements may increase the risk of bruising, so consult with your physician.

– Do not wax, pluck, or tweeze at least 4 weeks before treatment.

– Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks before treatment.

– Notify the clinic of any changes to your health history or medications.

– If you have a history of herpes or cold sores, you may require an anti-viral prescription before treatment.

Laser Hair Removal Aftercare:

– Avoid sun exposure and use broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen.

– Redness and perifollicular edema (resembling a rash or bug bites) are common and resolve over time.

– Bruising and swelling are less common but may occur and will resolve.

– Hair may take up to 2 weeks to fall out.

– Avoid heat sources like hot tubs and saunas for 1-2 days.

– Stay away from skin irritants, such as products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, and astringents, for a few days post-treatment.

– Do not wax or pluck between treatments.

– Notify the clinic of any concerns, such as blistering or excessive redness/swelling.

– Keep in mind that hair removal requires multiple treatments, the number of which depends on the body location and hair type. Consult with the clinic regarding when to resume your regular skincare routine.

Who is not suitable for Laser Hair Removal:

Individuals with active skin conditions, open sores, or cuts should consult their therapist to determine their suitability for the treatment. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities at Secret Aesthetics.
