If further treatments are required it is charged at a discounted price of £500. It can take up to 8 weeks for the treated vein to fully disappear, therefore we do not offer any further treatments earlier than the 8 week mark.
The Procedure of Periorbital Vein Treatment
Your periorbital vein treatment journey at Secret Aesthetics begins with a thorough consultation and assessment by one of our experienced doctors. During this consultation, we will evaluate your suitability, discuss expectations and review your medical history.
On the day of treatment:
- Ultrasound jelly is applied to the treatment area and a patch test is performed.
- The treatment area is cleansed
- Eyeshields are worn for the treatment. These may be intraocular introduced with local anaesthetic eye drops and lubricating jelly if we are treating very close to the eyelid margin or over the eyelid
- The Excel laser is delivered precisely to the visible veins
- The procedure is quick and often carried out within 15 minutes
- Skin cooling post treatment
- Antibiotic eye ointment may be required if eye shields are used to minimise risk of infection or discomfort
- The treatment is generally well tolerated, with minimal discomfort.
It is recommended that you wait at least 48hrs after your patch test to rebook, however you have the option to continue on the day if there is a response, although this is at your own discretion.
If there is a visible response and the vein is treated in the patch test, as can be seen with smaller veins, then it will be considered that the treatment is complete and full payment will be taken.
Aftercare For Periobital Vein Treatment
To ensure optimal results and smooth recovery, we recommend the following aftercare steps:
- Use an ice pack for cooling; do not apply ice directly to skin to avoid ice burn
- Avoid rubbing or touching the treated area
- Avoid heat exposure for 48 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Use gentle skincare around the eye area
- Apply SPF daily
- Keep head elevated during rest or sleep to reduce swelling.
Periorbital Vein Treatment Results
Treated veins can often collapse instantly for immediate visible results. However, it is more common that the veins are gradually absorbed by the body which means they get darker or bleed out and heal more like a bruise. Therefore, we require that you remain patient and wait up to eight weeks to assess the final outcome, after which we can help you decide whether further treatment is necessary. Once the healing process is complete, patients typically notice:
