Treat Hyperhidrosis with Botox
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive sweating) can have a severe impact on our confidence and our quality of life.
Botox is a NICE and FDA approved treatment for hyperhidrosis of the hands, feet, underarms, head and face amongst other discrete areas. Clinical studies consistently demonstrate the highest success rates of cure and/or relief. If you are finding that antiperspirants and deodorants are not working for you and you wish to avoid strong, time consuming chemical formulations such as aluminium hydroxide preparations and expensive treatments such as ionophoresis, then this is the treatment for you.
The Hyperhidrosis Procedure
You will begin with a consultation and evaluation of your medical history and personal expectations by our doctor.
We will ensure that there is no underlying medical cause for the sweating and that you are truly suffering from hyperhidrosis as small amounts of sweating are normal and healthy for normal bodily functioning.
The treatment will include multiple injection sites of Botox across the areas of concern. The procedure is usually completed within 15 minutes.
Results of Hyperhidrosis treatment
It usually takes 4-10 days for results to become apparent.
If you do not see the desired end result in 14 days, you may require additional treatment.
Results usually last 3-6 months.
Aftercare for Hyperhidrosis Botox
If you are having hyperhidrosis treatment on your forehead, do not lie down for 4 hours.
This will prevent Botox tracking in to the orbit of your eye causing eyelid dropping. After this you can lie down/sleep in any position.
Although you can touch and clean your skin, please refrain from massaging or rubbing the treated areas for 24 hours, including any facials. Avoid makeup in the treated areas for 12 hours. Avoid exercise for 24 hours. Avoid extensive sun exposure and heat ie) hot showers/sauna/steam room for 72 hours. Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours if you are prone to bruising or swelling.
Wait at least 7 days before any chemical peels, laser or microdermabrasion.
